He went potty on his own!
We've been trying, unsuccessfully, to potty-train Matthew for a month or so now. I've given up all hope of him ever using a toilet as he takes such a fit when I put him there and with me being so darn nauseated all the time and with my back killing me I just can't handle it so I stopped. Today as I'm laying on the couch he comes up to me and says "I go bafroom". I chuckle and say "oh really?" and he starts walking towards the bathroom. Not believing this I ask him seriously, where is he going. He comes back and says "I going bafroom Mommy", and walks into the bathroom. I call out "do you have to use the potty?" and he nods and says "uh-huh". So now I'm dying to see what he really has in store for me so I get up and follow him to the bathroom, where he asks for a sticker (he only gets them when he sits on the potty, and if he actually pees he gets a happy face one). I pull down his pants, take off his diaper, sit him on the potty and turn on the water. He sits there, and I'm not buying that anything is going to happen. He continues to sit there, then reaches over for the magazine holder and pulls out a magazine and starts reading. "Once apon time I had go potty. The end". I laugh, call Chris in, Matthew reads the story again, then he says he's all done. OK sure, let's take you down. I couldn't believe it, he actually peed! OK it got on his shirt, but close enough! He chose the biggest happy-face sticker on the sheet and proudly stuck it on his hand. Woohoo!
