Is this what he really thinks of me?

Matthew's favourite game lately is to pretend he's Shrek. He'll run up to me excitedly and say "Hi Mommy. It's me Shrek!". It's very cute until he informs me of which character I get to play. Unfortunately it's not Princess Fiona; he's made me Donkey!

Should I be offended that he made me the jackass?

  • Naw...I wouldn't be offended. I'd take it as a compliment. Donkey is Shrek's best friend and companion. He's always happy and encouraging and he helps Shrek. I think that's how Matthew views you as well! So, don't feel like a "jackass"; feel like a "noble steed."

  • Yeah but Donkey is an annoying jabberjaw who is so dense he doesn't even realize he's annoying. Plus donkeys are beasts of burden and I'm not interested in hard labour. I wanna be the princess!!!

  • Donkey's also entertaining! LOL! I guess it's how you see the world. Like the glass of juice (beer, vodka, what-ever)...is it "half full" or "half empty"?

    I always view it as "half full." Maybe that's the optimist in me? (wink)
