Attitude adjustment required

Baby Shmear has developed an attitude of late. No matter what I do I get yelled at. I give him some milk, he doesn't want milk, he wants ice-cream. I put him to bed, he doesn't want to sleep, he wants to read a story. But not the storybook I chose, he wants a different one. I go to sit down to play with him and he doesn't like the toy I pulled out to play with. Or he wants to play in a different room. I leave the room to do something and he runs after me screaming because I either didn't ask permission to leave or I didn't invite him. Urrrrgh! Or my favourite attitude: "I'm really really upset about something right now and you have to guess why". I don't know how to handle this little demon anymore. If I stay there to try to help him figure out what the problem is, he just screams. But if I leave the room til his hissy fit is over he goes into major meltdown until I come back. And the worst of it is, he only does this with me!!! Should I feel special or something? Maybe he's just hit the terrible two's early (my luck - I got a "gifted" child! Ha ha). Any advice is much appreciated cuz pretty soon I'm gonna run away from home!
